Tata Motors, India’s pioneering automotive manufacturer, proudly announced on February 14 that its latest offering, the all-new Nexon (ICE), has secured a coveted five-star safety rating from the Global New Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP). This remarkable achievement reaffirms Tata Motors’ unwavering commitment to prioritizing safety and innovation in its vehicles.

The Nexon impressed with an impressive score of 32.22 points for adult occupant protection and 44.52 points for child occupant safety, solidifying its position as India’s bestselling SUV with top-notch safety credentials. This accomplishment marks a significant milestone for Tata Motors, as all of its new SUV models have now earned the prestigious five-star rating from GNCAP.

Mohan Savarkar, Chief Product Officer at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, expressed his pride in this achievement, stating, “Safety is ingrained in our DNA, and we are proud to earn the prestigious 5-star rating from Global NCAP for the new Nexon as per the enhanced 2022 protocol.” He highlighted the Nexon’s legacy as the first car in India to receive a five-star rating from GNCAP in 2018, emphasizing Tata Motors’ continuous commitment to innovation and excellence.

Savarkar reiterated Tata Motors’ dedication to delivering vehicles that exceed expectations while prioritizing the safety of every passenger on the road. The company’s relentless pursuit of safety is evident in the Nexon’s outstanding performance in crash tests, where it demonstrated excellent protection for occupants’ head, neck, and knees in frontal impact scenarios.

Equipped with advanced safety features, including six airbags, three-point seat belts for all occupants, and ISOFIX restraints, the Nexon sets a new standard for SUV safety in India. Additionally, the car boasts a comprehensive safety suite, featuring Electronic Stability Program (ESP), a 360-degree camera, blind view monitoring, and front parking sensors, among other advanced technologies.

Tata Motors continues to lead the charge in advancing automotive safety standards, setting new benchmarks with each vehicle it introduces to the market. The Nexon’s latest five-star safety rating from GNCAP underscores Tata Motors’ commitment to delivering vehicles that provide unparalleled safety, comfort, and performance for customers across India and beyond.
