- There is no limit on the Maximum Balance/Amount for the Capital Gains Deposit Scheme across all branches except Rural branches. Depending on the type of capital gains specified under sections 54, 54B, 54F, 54D, 54G, and 54GB, the scheme allows for:
- A maximum deposit duration of 24 months if the capital gains fall under sections 54, 54B, or 54F, as declared by the depositor in Form A.
- A maximum deposit duration of 36 months if the capital gains are under sections 54, 54D, 54F, 54G, or 54GB, as declared by the depositor in Form A.
- The deposit period should not extend beyond 2 to 3 years from the original asset’s transfer date. This scheme is applicable at all branches except those in rural areas.
