In a testament to its growing popularity and the robust demand for luxury vehicles in the Indian market, German automaker Mercedes-Benz reported its best-ever retail sales for the fiscal year 2023-24. With an impressive tally of 18,123 units sold, the company witnessed a remarkable 10% growth compared to the previous fiscal year’s sales of 16,497 units.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, expressed delight at the achievement, emphasizing the trust and desirability the brand commands among Indian consumers. He attributed the success to the overwhelming response from customers, reflecting their unwavering confidence in Mercedes-Benz.

The stellar performance extended beyond the fiscal year, with the first quarter of 2024 also witnessing remarkable growth. Mercedes-Benz India recorded sales of 5,412 units during this period, marking a substantial 15% increase from the same quarter last year.

Looking ahead, Mercedes-Benz has ambitious plans to further strengthen its presence in the Indian market. The company aims to introduce nine new models in the country this year, including three new battery electric vehicles (BEVs). With the launch of these new models, Mercedes-Benz seeks to cater to the evolving preferences of Indian consumers and capitalize on the growing demand for eco-friendly mobility solutions.

Moreover, Mercedes-Benz is set to enhance its AMG performance range with the introduction of the AMG S 63 e-Performance sedan and the AMG C 63 e-Performance in the second quarter of 2024. These high-performance vehicles are expected to appeal to enthusiasts seeking a perfect blend of luxury and adrenaline-fueled driving experiences.

Expanding its retail network, Mercedes-Benz plans to inaugurate two luxury MAR 20X outlets in New Delhi and Mumbai in April 2024. Additionally, the company aims to establish 20 new MAR 20X luxury workshops across ten new cities this year, further enhancing its reach and accessibility to customers across India.

With a strong focus on innovation, customer experience, and expanding its product portfolio, Mercedes-Benz India is poised to continue its growth trajectory and reinforce its position as a leader in the luxury automotive segment in the country.
