In the early hours of Thursday, a Kuala Lumpur-bound international flight, carrying 130 passengers, experienced a tyre burst during taxiing at Chennai airport. Prompt and efficient response from airport authorities ensured the safety of all passengers, who were promptly deplaned without any reported injuries, according to a senior official at the airport.

The incident occurred as the flight was taxiing ahead of takeoff to the Malaysian capital, resulting in the rupture of the rear tyre. The quick and decisive actions taken by the flight crew and ground personnel ensured that all passengers disembarked safely.

Following the evacuation, the stranded passengers were provided with accommodation in city hotels, ensuring their comfort during the unforeseen delay. The airport official indicated that the flight is anticipated to resume its onward journey to Kuala Lumpur on Friday morning, pending necessary repairs and safety checks.

Remarkably, flight operations at Chennai airport remained unaffected by the incident, highlighting the effectiveness of the airport’s emergency response protocols. The incident was promptly contained, and necessary measures were taken to ensure minimal disruption to overall airport activities.

Passengers praised the swift response of the flight crew and ground staff, emphasizing the importance of safety protocols in handling such situations. The incident underscores the critical role played by well-trained aviation professionals and the importance of rigorous safety procedures in safeguarding passengers during unexpected events.

Aviation authorities and the airline involved are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the tyre burst and to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Passenger safety remains a top priority for the aviation industry, and incidents like these serve as reminders of the constant diligence required to uphold safety standards in air travel.

As passengers await the resumption of their journey, the incident serves as a testament to the effectiveness of safety measures and the commitment of aviation professionals to ensuring the well-being of those on board.
