Jetking Infotrain Raises ₹6.1 Crore to Buy Bitcoin, Expands Crypto Holdings to 21 BTC

Jetking Infotrain Ltd, a legacy IT training and education firm, has made headlines with its latest strategic move—venturing deeper into the world of cryptocurrency. The company announced on May 28 that it has raised ₹6.1 crore through a preferential issue of equity shares specifically to purchase Bitcoin.

In a filing with the stock exchanges, Jetking stated, “The Company has allotted 3,96,156 equity shares of face value ₹10 each at an issue price of ₹154 per share (including a premium of ₹144), aggregating to ₹6.1 crore.” The funds have already been deployed to acquire virtual digital assets, aligning with the stated objective of the capital raise.

Founded in 1947 as Jetking Electronics, the company began as a trader of electronic goods before transforming into a skill development and IT training institute. It was publicly listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange in 1986. Over the decades, Jetking has continually reinvented itself, and its latest foray into Bitcoin signals another bold pivot in a rapidly evolving digital economy.

According to the company, as of March 31, 2025, it held 15.02 Bitcoins. Following the recent capital infusion and reinvestment of internal accruals, Jetking has boosted its total Bitcoin holdings to 21 BTC as of May 28, acquired at an average purchase price of ₹64.65 lakh per Bitcoin.

The market reacted positively to the news, with Jetking Infotrain’s shares closing 2% higher at ₹133.6 apiece on the BSE on May 29. The company’s market capitalisation now stands at approximately ₹7,900 crore.

Industry watchers note that Jetking’s move reflects a growing trend among Indian companies to diversify their balance sheets with crypto assets, especially amid global interest in digital currencies as long-term stores of value.

As Jetking continues to evolve from its analog roots into a digitally driven future, its bold Bitcoin bet may well set a precedent for other legacy firms looking to modernize their financial strategies.
