Indiabulls Housing Finance, a leading non-banking finance company, has successfully garnered bids totaling $350 million for its dollar-denominated social bonds with a maturity period of three years and three months. The acceptance of these bids underscores investor confidence in the company’s financial offerings and market resilience amidst ongoing economic fluctuations.

According to two merchant bankers familiar with the transaction, the company will extend a coupon rate of 9.70% to investors, representing a slight reduction from the initial guidance of 9.95%. This adjustment reflects the competitive nature of the bond issuance process and the company’s commitment to securing favorable terms for its investors.

The issuance has been facilitated by a consortium of renowned financial institutions, including Barclays, CLSA, Deutsche Bank, Elara Capital, Emirates NBD Capital, Nuvama, and UBS, serving as joint bookrunners for the transaction. Their collective expertise and market presence have played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the bond offering.

Notably, the bonds have been assigned a credit rating of B by S&P, reflecting a moderate level of credit risk associated with the investment. The proceeds from the bond issuance are earmarked for various activities, primarily directed towards onward lending initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth and development.

Indiabulls Housing Finance’s strategic decision to tap into the international bond market underscores its proactive approach to diversifying funding sources and optimizing capital structure. By accessing global capital markets, the company aims to leverage favorable market conditions to support its growth objectives and enhance shareholder value.

The successful completion of this dollar bond issuance reaffirms Indiabulls Housing Finance’s position as a reputable player in the financial services sector, capable of attracting investor interest and executing strategic fundraising initiatives. As the company continues to navigate evolving market dynamics, its ability to secure financing at competitive rates reflects its resilience and adaptability in a dynamic economic environment.
