In a continued trend, the market for precious metals has seen a significant fluctuation, with gold experiencing a dip of Rs 100 while silver witnessed a jump of Rs 200 in the early trade on Wednesday.
According to the latest data from the GoodReturns website, the price of 24-carat gold stands at Rs 62,950 for ten grams, marking a decrease of Rs 100. Conversely, the price of silver has surged, with one kilogram of the precious metal selling at Rs 76,600, reflecting a notable increase of Rs 200.
This downward trend in gold prices has persisted for the fifth consecutive day in India. The decline has affected both 22-carat and 24-carat gold prices, with 10 grams of 22-carat gold now trading at Rs 57,700, also down by Rs 100.
The variation in gold rates across major cities remains relatively consistent, with Mumbai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad aligning closely in pricing. However, in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, slight deviations in gold rates are observable, with prices ranging from Rs 62,950 to Rs 63,490 for 24-carat gold and Rs 57,700 to Rs 58,200 for 22-carat gold.
Meanwhile, the silver market exhibits a consistent pricing trend, with rates at Rs 76,600 per kilogram in Delhi and Mumbai. However, Chennai stands apart with a slightly higher price of Rs 78,000 per kilogram.
Over the course of the past five days, the decline in gold rates has been significant, witnessing a cumulative decrease of Rs 1050 for 22-carat gold and Rs 1140 for 24-carat gold. The price of 100 grams of 22-carat gold has fallen to Rs 5,77,000 after a decline of Rs 1000, while the cost of 100 grams of 24-carat gold now stands at Rs 6,29,000 following a similar decrease.
The price movement also affects other variants of gold, such as 18-carat gold, which now trades at Rs 47,210 for 10 grams, marking a decrease of Rs 80 on Tuesday.
Market experts attribute this continued decline in gold prices to various global and domestic factors, including fluctuations in international markets, changes in demand-supply dynamics, and evolving investor sentiments.
Analysts suggest that while these fluctuations might bring short-term changes in the market, the overall sentiment regarding precious metals remains cautious, prompting investors to closely monitor the developments in the coming days.
The ongoing fluctuations in the market continue to keep stakeholders and investors on their toes, eagerly watching for further developments and trends in the precious metals segment.
