Bank of America (BofA) has notched up an impressive $10.5 billion in deposits and investments over the past four years through pioneering collaborations with companies to furnish financial services to their employees, the financial giant revealed on Thursday.
Since its inception in 2020, over 450 corporate and commercial clients have embraced BofA’s employee benefits and investment program, with an additional 50 firms slated to enlist by mid-year, as disclosed by Aron Levine, president of preferred banking at BofA.
With access extended to 4 million workers for BofA bank accounts and rewards programs through their employers, the bank reported that 20% have already availed themselves of the services. Through this innovative initiative, BofA has successfully attracted $4 billion in deposits and a substantial $6.5 billion in client investment accounts.
“Companies are keen on providing robust benefits and perks to their employees,” remarked Wendy Stewart, president of global commercial banking at BofA, underscoring the motivation behind the surge in uptake. She emphasized that such offerings not only enhance employee satisfaction but also bolster retention rates, reflecting a strategic investment in human capital.
Bank of America, positioned as the second-largest U.S. lender, recently reported a downturn in fourth-quarter profit. However, company executives remain sanguine about the economic outlook in the United States, citing the resilience of consumer finances amidst challenging market conditions.
The success of BofA’s innovative employer deals underscores the potential for collaborative initiatives between financial institutions and corporate entities to drive growth, foster financial inclusion, and cater to evolving consumer needs in an ever-changing economic landscape.
