Bajaj Auto, a leading player in the Indian automotive industry, announced on Thursday that it has further bolstered its investment in the electric bike-sharing platform, Yulu Bikes, by injecting an additional Rs 45.75 crore into the venture.

Following this latest infusion of funds, Bajaj Auto’s ownership stake in Yulu Bikes has surged to 18.8% of the paid-up equity share capital of the pioneering electric bike-sharing platform. This move underscores Bajaj Auto’s unwavering commitment to fostering sustainable urban mobility solutions and promoting the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in India.

In a regulatory filing, Bajaj Auto reaffirmed its dedication to supporting innovative ventures like Yulu Bikes that align with its overarching vision of advancing eco-friendly transportation alternatives. The infusion of capital signifies a strategic step forward in solidifying the partnership between Bajaj Auto and Yulu Bikes, leveraging synergies to drive positive change in the mobility landscape.

This isn’t the first time Bajaj Auto has demonstrated its confidence in Yulu’s potential. Back in 2019, the automotive giant had made a substantial investment of USD 8 million (approximately Rs 66 crore) in Yulu, signaling its proactive stance in catalyzing the growth of EV infrastructure and technology in India.

Yulu Bikes, renowned for its innovative approach to last-mile connectivity and urban transportation, has rapidly emerged as a trailblazer in the electric mobility sector. By facilitating convenient, affordable, and environmentally sustainable transportation solutions, Yulu Bikes has garnered widespread acclaim and user adoption across various cities in India.

The strategic collaboration between Bajaj Auto and Yulu Bikes holds significant promise in driving the widespread adoption of electric vehicles and addressing the burgeoning challenges of urban congestion and pollution. With Bajaj Auto’s continued support and investment, Yulu Bikes is poised to scale new heights in revolutionizing urban mobility and shaping a greener, more sustainable future for India’s cities.

As the world transitions towards cleaner and greener transportation alternatives, partnerships like the one between Bajaj Auto and Yulu Bikes underscore the pivotal role of collaboration and innovation in accelerating the shift towards electric mobility and creating smarter, more sustainable urban environments.
