Axis Bank Privilege Credit Card Review 2026: Fees, Rewards and Benefits

Credit Cards 7 Mins Read

Last reviewed: 9 October 2026. Fees and benefits checked against Axis Bank’s credit card MITC, the Privilege card welcome benefit terms, the Privilege revision notices (April 2024 and the changes effective 28 August and 1 November 2026), Axis Bank’s Privilege card literature and the bank’s airport lounge programme document.

The Axis Bank Privilege credit card is a mid range rewards card with a ₹1,500 fee that earns EDGE Reward points on everyday spending, adds a 10,000 point milestone at ₹2.5 lakh a year and gives a quarterly domestic lounge visit pair if you spend enough. It suits a salaried person who spends ₹25,000 to ₹40,000 a month across shopping, dining and travel and wants a simple points card with a welcome bonus that roughly covers the first year’s fee.

Like most Axis cards, Privilege has been trimmed over the years. The free concierge has gone, the fee waiver threshold doubled to ₹5 lakh, and from 1 November 2026 the movie offer needs a minimum quarterly spend. We show what is left in rupees. For our scoring method, see how we rate credit cards, loans and deposits.

What you would actually earn with the Axis Bank Privilege credit card

Take ₹30,000 a month on the card, of which ₹25,000 is eligible shopping, dining and travel and ₹5,000 is utilities and fuel, which earn nothing.

  • Regular points: ₹25,000 / 200 x 10 = 1,250 points a month, or 15,000 points a year, worth about 15,000 x ₹0.20 = ₹3,000
  • Milestone: eligible spend of ₹3,00,000 a year clears the ₹2.5 lakh mark, adding 10,000 points worth ₹2,000
  • Total yearly value: ₹3,000 + ₹2,000 = ₹5,000

Total spend of ₹3.6 lakh is below the ₹5 lakh waiver, so you pay ₹1,500 + 18% GST = ₹1,770 each year. Net value from year two is ₹5,000 minus ₹1,770 = ₹3,230.

In year one, the 12,500 welcome points add ₹2,500, so the net is ₹5,000 + ₹2,500 minus ₹1,770 = ₹5,730. If you push spend to ₹5 lakh, the fee disappears and year two value rises to roughly ₹5,000 plus whatever the extra spend earns. Movie and lounge benefits come on top but depend on quarterly spend, so we have left them out of the sum.

Pros and cons

What works

  • The welcome bonus of ₹2,500 in vouchers more than covers the first year’s ₹1,770 fee.
  • A flat 1% value on eligible spends plus a ₹2,000 milestone is easy to reach for a mid income household.
  • Points can also be moved to airline and hotel partners, within annual caps.
  • Two domestic lounge visits a quarter for regular spenders.

What does not

  • The fee waiver now needs ₹5 lakh, up from ₹2.5 lakh.
  • No points on insurance, rent, wallet loads, fuel, education, utilities, government payments, gold and jewellery, gift cards or tolls.
  • Lounge and movie benefits both depend on spending ₹25,000 to ₹50,000 in the previous quarter.
  • 3.5% forex markup and 3.75% monthly finance charges.
  • Complimentary concierge was discontinued in 2024.

Eligibility and documents

Axis Bank does not publish a minimum income for Privilege in the documents we could access, so check your pre-approved limit in the Axis Mobile app. Typical requirements are:

  • PAN card and Aadhaar for KYC
  • Last three salary slips or six months of bank statements
  • Latest ITR if self-employed
  • A clean repayment history on existing loans and cards

Our verdict

The Axis Bank Privilege credit card is a fair choice for a steady spender who will use the welcome bonus and reach the ₹2.5 lakh milestone, earning around ₹3,000 to ₹5,700 a year net. Skip it if your spending is mostly bills, fuel and rent, which earn nothing, or if you want a card whose lounge and movie perks do not depend on quarterly spend.

How to apply

Apply on the official Axis Bank Privilege credit card page or through the Axis Mobile app if you have a pre-approved offer. Remember to make your first transaction within 30 days of issue to unlock the welcome points.
